Overview

What is a VRV system?

Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV / VRF) systems vary the flow of refrigerant to multiple indoor units from one outdoor condensing system, delivering precise heating and cooling exactly where and when it's needed.

The result is excellent energy efficiency, individual room control and quiet, low-maintenance operation. VeeKay sizes, installs and commissions VRV systems tailored to your building and how it's used.

VRV FAQs

Common VRV questions

What's the difference between VRV and VRF?
They're the same technology — VRV (Variable Refrigerant Volume) is Daikin's trademark; VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) is the generic term. Both vary refrigerant flow for zoned, efficient climate control.
Can different rooms heat and cool at the same time?
Yes. Heat-recovery VRV systems can heat some zones while cooling others simultaneously, improving comfort and efficiency.
Is VRV suitable for my building?
VRV suits most commercial and mixed-use buildings. We assess your layout, loads and goals to confirm it's the right fit and size it accordingly.
How efficient are VRV systems?
Very. Inverter-driven compressors match output to demand, so you only use the energy you need — typically cutting running costs versus older systems.
Do you maintain VRV systems?
Yes. We provide planned maintenance and support to keep your VRV system efficient and reliable.
